Week 15: Midweek
Oct. 6, 2022Less than a week to go until the house itself starts going up! Everything is on track and ready to go. Our basement builders continue to do fantastic work and it will be a sad day when they are finished and we have to say goodbye to them!
The retaining walls for our exterior stairs continue to go up and I’m hoping
that the actual stairs start to go in soon. I’m very curious to see how they
will be constructed. My best guess is poured concrete but it really is a
guess.
And the retaining walls just keep getting taller.
In these next two photos, you can see the newly dug trench. Eventually, this
will lead to water, power and … internet connection to our chicken coop.
Never fear however. We do not plan on teaching our future chickens how to use
the internet but rather plan to be able to use it for automation type features
like security cameras, automatic lights or light-sensitive doors. We don’t
really know yet and having chickens is a LONG way away but we are trying to
plan ahead.
