The exterior hasn’t changed much since Wednesday but the most exciting part
of today is that we were finally able to go upstairs! In addition to that,
the plumbing and water guys have arrived onsite and have started working on
installing all of the pipes that will be used throughout the house.
The downstairs bathroom has the beginning of some pipes. This is for the
sink.
Upstairs for the first time! There are still no stairs so we had to climb up
the ladder. We are really happy with how much light we have upstairs,
especially since this was a fairly overcast day. In this first photo, the
skylights face the front of the house and the door way that you see is the
entrance to the bathroom. Unlike most US houses, this bathroom will not
have a toilet. In most Czech homes, the room with the toilet is separate
from the room with the bathtub/shower.
From this view, if you look at the location where the stairs will be, there
will be a railing on the left (where the ladder is leaning) and a small railing
next to the bathroom door between the top of the stairs and the wall.
From this view, the left-most door is the bathroom, the middle door is the
toilet room. This room will only have a toilet and tiny sink. The door
to the right is our bedroom.
This is another view of the landing from the doorway of the bathroom. The
doorway that you see on the right is to my office/sewing room and the
doorway that you can only partially see on the left will be our guest
bedroom.
Just enough space for one toilet and one sink!
This is the bathroom. The corner directly in front of you is where we
will have our bathtub.
This corner is to the left of the bathtub corner. We will have some built-in
drawers under the sloped roof and to the left of that on the next wall will be
two sinks. (Where those metal sort of bars are leaning against the wall.)
In this photo, I’m standing in the corner that the built-in drawers will be.
On the right is the bathroom doorway. Directly in front is the wall that will
have the radiator and bars and hooks for towels and that nook that you see on
the left is our shower.
This photo is taken standing in the doorway of our guest bedroom. The
skylight faces the back of our house.
And this is pretty much a mirror image of the last and it will be my
office/sewing room. The skylight faces the front of the house.
And finally, our bedroom! This is the cool bumpout on the back of the house
so we have really nice views of the back yard, gardens, orchard and forest.
This room is particularly interesting because it has some cool slopes due to
the lower roof in this part.
This is the view from the front wall of our bedroom toward the landing.
This is our enormous closet! Nothing too exciting here but we were both
surprised by how big it is. No complaints, of course!
Last, but certainly not least, puppy has finally figured out how to rest in
the car! After a busy visit inspecting and barking orders, it’s naptime!
