The guys have been working hard this week and the basement walls are finally going up! It’s great to be able to stand inside and finally start to get a feel for how big things are going to be.
You can see in the first photo that the floor is nicely leveled out. The garage door opening is pretty good. While a bit small for two large cars, it should fit an SUV and a classic MINI quite nicely! (Note: We don’t actually have a classic MINI)
Another view, looking toward the front of the house. The room on the far left is the technical and laundry room and the space to the right is where the u-shaped staircase will go.
Looking down into our storage room/pantry/vegetable storage/whatever else ends up in there!
The main part of the garage, mostly filled with concrete blocks.
Another view from the side. The opening to the right of the garage door is just going to be a side exit so you don’t have to open the whole garage door.
Our construction guys are super nice and I have been really enjoying watching the process that they use to build the basement. I think it pretty much takes a day per course of bricks. They are meticulous and level each and every brick, vertically and horizontally to make sure it is perfect.
We watered the trees while we were there and I got a nice photo of the view from the top of the property. It will be so nice when all the houses are done and we just have the nice view!
